Cotton Candy Popcorn

Pink-and-blue carnival feeling for your popcorn bowl - sweet, colorful, and an eye-catcher at any party.

⏱ 15 min 👩‍🍳 Easy 🍽 6 servings

The taste of cotton candy at the county fair, just crispy instead of stringy.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 10.5 oz white candy melts
  • 1/2 tsp cotton candy flavoring
  • 1 pinch each pink and blue food coloring
  • 2 tbsp rainbow sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Pop the kernels and divide between two bowls.
  2. Melt the candy melts, stir in the cotton candy flavoring, then split the mixture in half and tint one half pink and the other blue.
  3. Drizzle each color over one portion of popcorn and toss gently.
  4. Combine both colors on a sheet or parchment paper before the mixture sets.
  5. Sprinkle immediately with rainbow sprinkles.

Tips & Variations

  • Find cotton candy flavoring in the baking aisle or online - it genuinely tastes like carnival cotton candy.
  • Without the flavoring, it just tastes sweet and vanilla-like - visually, it makes almost no difference.
  • Don't mix the colors too much, or the pink and blue quickly turn into an unflattering purple.
